Phoenix winging her way - 3D origami by SophieEkard Phoenix winging her way - 3D origami by SophieEkard
A friend of mine told me that she loves the colours of fire and that she likes my little phoenix. So I decided to do a greater phoenix for her.

When I made it, I had a quote in mind:
“The phoenix hope, can wing her way through the desert skies, and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise.”
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

Modular origami is a paper craft where individual sheets of paper are folded into identical shapes and fitted together to create a larger shape. No glue is needed.

This is one of the most amazing paper-folding creations I have seen. The geometry is as beautiful as the phoenix itself.

I have to ask. How do you get your origami to stick together because all of mine like to fall apart if I don't glue them.

I use 8Ogr paper and I fold the pieces tight, actually there is no real technique, but I think these two things can change a lot...

I found some orange paper today! So I could try to make my own phoenix now. May I ask, how many units did you use for this one?

I counted around 750 pieces! But you know I never count pieces before doing it, because I don't want to discouraged. xD
