#25 Pikachu - 3D origami by SophieEkard #25 Pikachu - 3D origami by SophieEkard
Modular origami is a paper craft where individual sheets of paper are folded into identical shapes and fitted together to create a larger shape. No glue was needed here to fit the pieces together.

I have finally created my very own Pikachu out of origami. Hurray!
Hope you like it! ^^

I love this and I'm trying to make a very simple modular origami model but when I do it, they have trouble staying together. They also keep unfolding. How do you prevent that?

It's modular origami, you fold little pieces of paper into a triangle shaped pieces and you fit the pieces together like LEGOS. There are tutorials on youtube to do a lot of things. I designed this one, but I don't do tutorials.

It's basic 3D origami, you fold the little pieces of paper and you fit them together.

Between 6-7 hours, I don't know exactly, I started it one night and I finished it the next morning. It's pretty short compared to my other works. ^^

Very, very cute! How about a Pichu, too?:D

Kind of wondering how the tail was done, though!

Do you want me to do pichu too? xD

I cheated on the color, as I did not have light brown... maybe I'd a picture later. xD

Maybe!:D

Though Pichu would probably be a bit too round for 3D origami to differ significantly from Pikachu...Or maybe not? A Pichu's ears are even larger than an Eevee's compared to their heads.

And actually I was wondering about how you did the thunderbolt-like shape, and not the color, at least not at first.

Well, I don't do perfectly proportionate pokémons, it's more like a personal interpretation. Pichu would have to be shorter, so it'd be cuter. xD Yes, the ears are too big... and not identical. I'll have to use glue.

Oh, I did that thunderbolt thing! It was difficult at first. xD
